Do you have any closeup shots of the block / bores? Especially after you cleaned them up?

What looks sort of like it could be bore sleeves might also just be the water-jacket of the alloy block. What we can't see is whether there are multiple shades of metal in the circular bores.

Sure looks like some kind of liners in there. It looks like all 4 bore liners are joined together at the hip and are somehow cast into the alloy block.

I guess that this pretty much definitively answers any prior doubts.

Some cylinder plating ( I'm thinking Nikasil ) is so wear resistant it take thousands of miles to truly bed the rings.

correction - TENS of thousands of miles to bed the rings.
