2014 windshield bracket rust

After a long ride yesterday, it was clear I needed to switch to the barn door windshield. Upon removing the Yamaha touring screen, I found the metal windshield mount to have the paint worn away on one side and rust on the surface. I took this as indicative of shield-to-metal contact. Do you think the rubber spacers on this fairly new bike need to be replaced, or just tweaked?

I too have found this rust. I cleaned it up, put some anti-rust over the area, and put a small piece of duct tape over it, so the contact is against tape.

This little rub occurs with both my OEM standard and the OEM touring screen. Someone in Mr. Yamaha's design office appears to have failed on this clearance, but only on one side.
