2015 ECU

I bought a Canadian 2015 FJR1300A(I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado), and the display will only read in kilometers. I am thinking that if I swap out the ECU with an American model ECU I should get both Miles and Kilometers. I am not made of money, but if someone has an American model ECU for a 2015 I would like to talk about a reasonable price. On the off chance that anybody happens to know a reason why this would not work, I'm all ears and willing to learn. Thank you.

Don't know for sure about Gen III bikes but the Imperial / Metric stuff was a function of the display, not the ECU in Gen II.  There could be issues with the immobilizer if you change ECU.  Again, I am not sure but you should check it out before trying a swap.

I'm pretty certain that your owner's manual tells how to switch the display from Kilometers to Miles.

I knew that you could do that with Gen I and could not with Gen II.  Didn't know about Gen III.

Long press the trigger button that changes between windshield, heated grips and displays, then on the bottom of the menu you can change from km/h to mph. The bike must be stopped to access the settings.

US bikes can go between miles & km, can CDN bikes do the same?
