The Slingshot is rumored to get its propulsion from a 2.4-liter, Ecotec four-cylinder sourced from General Motors, and its expected output is 200 horsepower. According to the patent documentation ABS brakes, power steering, traction control and stability control will be included.

Another take on the side by side seating like the T-Rex, only this time from Polaris.

With all things being mostly equal in the $60k range this is more than equal with an extra wheel and better performance:

I'd like to see the side-impact safety crash test.

The bars on the side aren't a passenger container, they are the frame of the car. It surely won't pass a full NHTSA crash test suite, but neither will our FJR. With a power to weight ratio of ~3.3 vs the FJR 4.5 it is a flyer. My only regret is if I'm ever too old or unable to ride a motorcycle I won't be able to climb in and out of this car either.
