20th annual Ride to the Rock!!!! Saturday 11/27/2021

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls:
I am putting on the schedule the 20th annual 'Ride to the Rock'. The ride leaves from my humble abode in Lincoln RI at 9am and travels the backroads of southeastern MA to Plymouth MA to visit 'the Rock' in honor of our forefathers and Thanksgiving. The ride is usually held the Saturday after Thanksgiving each year, the 401st anniv. of the crossing so the Mayflower II should be back in place. (rain/snow date Sunday 11/28). The ride will go on regardless of how cold it is or how many attend-we have had as many as 29 bikes and as few as 3. We couldn't care less what you ride but we do require the noisy HDs to ride in the rear. Leave a PM here if you would like more info and directions to my house and hotels. DRESS WARM!! Coffee and donuts will be served before the ride at 7:30. KSU at 9am.

Again this year we will not be stopping at the Mayflower due to crowds so bring a lunch as we'll be eating at the Monument to our Forefathers.

Did my pre-ride last Friday. Temps got to 75. This will not be the case in late November.

Well boys and girls, the 20th edition of Ride to the Rock went off without a hitch, except for low attendance. We had snow/black ice in the higher elevations west of us Friday that kept some of my usual crowd from coming. We had a surprise visit in the truck from Bill Mac (scorpa) and his wife from NH who is recovering from some health issues. A little cold, 33 at KSU. 3 riders, myself, Steve (exciter99) and Al (Algas) set out from sunny but cold Lincoln RI to Plymouth Mass. The guys that wimped out missed a great ride. After a visit to the Rock and the Monument to the Forefathers it was back home. 150 miles, and usually the last significant outing of the season. Check out the size of the monument, compare to the people standing at the bottom.
