Yesterday popped through the 26k mile mark. One year and 12.0562 months. (the engineers will tell you how many days that is)

I know others have ridden farther/faster but.. given that Southern Oregon is the farthest this bike has been, and I live in the central Kali coast meaning it ain't all that far.. that seems like a pretty fair amount of miles.

I may not be IBA material, but the old girl does get ridden daily and I have to say, even though I've had more problems than most, that this platform rocks.. and the other bikes tend to be dust collectors...

I wonder if by 24 months I'll have passed through 60k? I bet I do.. Summer is coming and I have time off.. :yahoo:

Keep on doing what makes you happy, fortunately all of us are somewhat not the same, i.e.; different strokes for different folks. :yahoo:

I agree Dave! I hope to get more long distance stuff done soon.. just don't tell anyone.. The part I find fascinating is how quickly the short jaunts can add up..

Right with you, Buddy. 13K since October and touched down the right peg for the first time on the Crest last week. Sound familiar?

Ahem. I'm clipping this for future use. Start saying your prayers, cuz you're gonna get an ass whoopin'! :p

I read somewhere that the national average mileage for a motorcycle is 1500. You're trying to skew the statistics here. I'm thinking from a different persepective, that if I have enough bikes to rotate between, then my mileage will be about average, right?

Jill

I believe that 1500/year average. It's tough to rack up the miles when so many bikes are parked outside bars most weekends! (Not that I'm against the occasional adult beverage ... non-riding of course)

Now I'm gonna have to park my '07 for 3 years before I can ride it again

That should be the nicest bike on earth! Up until last year, I only rode about 800 miles/year. Last year I bought my 03 in July, and had 2500 for the year, since our riding season only lasted until October. This year I have 700 already, on the 05 I bought 3 weeks ago. It's so much easier to pile on the miles if you have a bike you love to ride.

Haven't seen a Brundog bash in a while, so here goes...

He's had HIS FJR since 1986 and has only put 3.4 miles on it...moving it around his garage to get it out of the way of his wife and offspring.

I believe the average of 1500 miles per year is because of the large population of riders who ride a machine that they can only stand to be on for an hour or so...

.....or can only afford about 10 fillups a year 'cause all their money's spent on chrome polish.

But look at all the money they save on helmets and riding gear...
