That's some serious 2up round trip mileage there, Cherry Man. I am assuming that you are planning on going home the same day?

I possibly could be talked into going out there but I'd be staying the night & not come home until the next day. Ahhh, I'd rather go to WV... it's closer & the roads??? A1.

It's gonna' be mighty chilly this weekend. Not horribly f'in cold... but definitely on the chilly side especially in the mornings. You sure that "blank" is up to it?

So, are you going to tell me what your new pillion's name is?

I was just looking at your route. You're gonna' ride in VA???? OMG! Hell didn't freeze over, did it? JK mister.

Word to the wise, since you won't be packing the RD right then. Rte 58 between Galax & Independence? Stay really close to the speed limit there. No more than 10 over. I've had very, very few tickets in VA but one of the very few that I've gotten was in Independence on Rte 58. You're finally gonna' ride in VA & you pick the most notorious speed trap road.

But once you get past Independence is when 58 starts gettin' REALLLLY GOODDDDD.

I am serious about possibly coming to meet you. I'd definitely ride out on Saturday, though. You game for Saturday? We could meet somewhere on Rte 58.

If y'all ride right by it on rt 58 anywho (between Independence and Damascus), consider VA SR600 over Mt Rogers, one nice little windy path - nuff fun to ride over and turn round and ride back just for the grin factor.

Jeff - Brazos Parker recommended the Damascus Mill Inn for a good place to eat - Lorie and I ate there on the way home from EOM. It's also a nice B&B. Might be a nice romantic place to stop if you've a mind to. Here are some pictures.

We looked at a room on the top floor and it was very nice.

Have a nice trip!

Thanks to ALL for the good wishes and fun pokin'.

Nope, not gonna name the SO yet. Just getting started in that relationship. Actually known her less time than Cherie. :)

Need to keep you hoodlums wondering about something. After all, Heidi already posted my now infamous shoes.

Sorry H, can't do Sat. Have riding class in Durham then, remember!!!

Has to be Sunday and have to come home same day. But you might as well know, I'm trailering Cherie to Durham and on to Pilot Mtn. That way the SO has a cager to go shopping while I take the Sat. class. So we will only be on the bike for the Pilot Mtn. to Pilot Mtn. loop. It still should be a good indicator of her seat worthiness. :0

Taking insulated liners and heavy socks. Hope I don't regret not (yet) buying heated gear.

Ya'll try not to have tooooo much fun without me lurking around here for a couple days.

Ride fast, ride hard, ride safe. See ya'll Monday!

JA

It's been warm enough here lately you shouldn't need any heated gear, unless the weather changes again...

Weather has already changed. It's forcasted to be a HIGH of low 40's all weekend... & that is the warmest part of the day.
