You can tell app size by looking at it in the App Store without buying it. It's near the bottom of the "Details" section....as with any app you might consider. But the app size itself is going to be small compared to maps it downloads.Joe, how large is that app when you load it on the phone?I use the Zumo 590, but phone memory in the iPhone is way limited since iOS bloat kicked in with iOS 8.
Tom, I have not yet purchased the app (I do have the FREE version). I know that KJ has raved about it in the past. I received an email from CoPilot, and just was passing on the 30% off deal.Joe, how large is that app when you load it on the phone?I use the Zumo 590, but phone memory in the iPhone is way limited since iOS bloat kicked in with iOS 8.
Not Joe, but the map tiles of North America is 1.3GB. It includes US and Canada, gets updated (free) about 2-3 times a/year.Joe, how large is that app when you load it on the phone?I use the Zumo 590, but phone memory in the iPhone is way limited since iOS bloat kicked in with iOS 8.
The GPS satellites are NOT in geosynchronous orbit, other than the 2 WAAS correction relay birds.Best (smartphone) GPS app out there!
It stores the map tiles local, no need for any Cell service (works in airplane mode, and, on airplanes as well ...if your in a window seat exposed to the S or W (or slightly E if your on the left coast). Basically a view to the birds as they sit geosynchronous above the equator. Pretty cool to sit in your seat and watch and know what's below ya!
I use it on my iPad as well
I sit corrected. The lower GPS birds @12,660mi high vs. 22,300 (our normal Comm birds) in the Clarke belt. The GPS satellites are NOT in geosynchronous orbit, other than the 2 WAAS correction relay birds.Best (smartphone) GPS app out there!

I use to make my routes in Googlemaps or mapquest etc. Then I used an (online) GPS file converter to make the native route into a .trp file. Imported it into the map directory. GUI recall is the 2nd tab [Route] in the Main menu.downloaded it and used it tonight. Pretty nice. Put the phone in airplane mode, no problems.
but.... need custom routes...
