Wow! Big Sky's story and mine are almost the same!

I turned 30 in the summer of '85 and met my wife then. By that fall, we both knew it was for the long haul. Because of simple logistics (like not living in the same state), we couldn't get married for almost 2 years but we've been a couple for over 30 years now, married for 28 last August. She's much smarter than me--PhD at 26. Why does she put up with me? Damned if I know--2 kids later!

Jeanne and I reach 38 years tomorrow morning. Partly because I'm going to dance class with her tonight. She puts up with lots of *********. Me, I'm just lucky.

33 years for me and my wife this coming March, ebbs and tides. Neither of us saints but we stay at it. I guess she puts up with me so she is more the saint

I have heard the saying.............."At this point it is cheaper to keep her"

I do not subscribe to that form of thinking. My life is much richer because of her.

Additionally, I have heard my wife say she would not consider divorce...................murder is another story though.

I would rather have her kill me, what she would do to me during that divorce would be way worse than I care to think of. Just make it quick please

I am one of the many here who know for a act that my life is so much better for having married the right person. We're still a long way off from the 30-year mark (it will be 13 years in October), but then again, we didn't get married until we were 41 (her for the second, me for the first time). Of course, we met in 4th grade (band geeks, saxophone), but had to go through everything we went through separately to become who we are today. Our reconnection started from our 20-year HS Reunion. And just to show how truly blessed I am, SHE's the one who pushed me to register for both CFR and EOM this year.

Two rules to remember:

1) The lady always starts on her right because the lady is always right!

2) Always keep changing feet. No Exception!!!...Except for Tango, :)

Kind of gives new meaning to an old phrase. Your better half. Pretty awesome when it changes from meaning the better half of the relationship, to the better half of your life. I don't define it as "marriage", because we are not married anymore. But she has been the better half of our relationship since I was 19. In about 2 years, she will officially be the better half of my life.

You better believe that I will celebrate that day, once I sit down and do the math to figure out exactly what day that will be.
