3M Defender Paint Protection (Removeable)

Has anyone tried the 3M Paint Defender product?

Looks like it would work well to protect the panniers & fairing section below the radiator.

Has to be easier to apply & remove than some other products.

I have it on my car, works well. Now that it is 5 years old, it is losing its invisibility.

I have also installed in on the FJR in a few spots like the tank and where my knees touch. I noticed there are a couple pieces already on the FJR from the factory by the luggage mounts.

Got it installed when I bought my near pristine 07.

There is a company here that sells a kit for the FJR, he cuts it like a printer when ordered.

A bit of a bugger to apply it from all reports, so I paid extra for him to do it.

So far so good, looks good and does it's job.

He even made a template for where the boots rub the plastics above the pegs for me.

Tankslapper sells the pre-cut protective film. The 3M Paint Defender is a spray-on application.

Went to an Autozone today and saw no sign of a rebate. Do I have to ask at the counter?

Found the rebate online, but it requires you to buy 3 products for a total of $44 before tax and rebate:
