Hello!Just wondering where to buy 4-1 exhaust system for FJR?Anyone know what brands are available and how much they cost????Thanks in advance

At WFO-5 there were several bikes there with the Muzzy full header, 4 into 1 system. One of the members actually ran a dyno before and after and found an increase in 10 hp with an increase in torque as well. IIRC it was a 4 ft/pd increase in torque. It looked great, sounded great and eliminates approximately 25 lbs. The rider did drag the pipe a little in sharp right-handers along the right bottom frame rail. However, Muzzy was going to address the issue with a slight adjustment to the bend in the exhaust system.

I would like to get this system myself but am waiting for the extra dough. It also requires a Power Commander III with map to run properly.

??? This may not be 100% accurate....

I am told by those who have this system that it runs fine without a PC-III, HOWEVER, it is true that the maximum horsepower gain that is possible with this full exhaust system can not be realized without a PC-III installed along with it.

I seem to recall dyno numbers that suggest a 6-7HP increase with the system alone, but slightly over 10 HP increase when used in conjunction with a PC-III.

So, in this regard, I would concur that if you're going to drop some serious coin for a fully Muzzy system, you are probably interesting in the extra HP gains, thus it only makes sense to go the extra mile and get a PC-III along with it. B)

You're correct, Dale. The Muzzy system has provision for the 02 sensor and works great as is but I picked up several more HP after I installed the PC3 with Muzzy supplied download. I had them install the quiet core in the can, a $50 extra, and my gains reflect that combination. Obviously, the standard can insert will give a bit more power {albiet moving the hp range a tad higher} but the noise would be greater as well. The "quiet core" is boarder line loud for my tastes. I'm glad I specified it.

BTW, Muzzy did the clearance mod on mine before I installed it. I've had no clearance issues. I'm using a Penske 8981 rear and Traxxion AK20 front.

Thanks much for the clarification. It is nice to know I can spread out the fiscal pain by purchasing the Muzzy system first and adding the PC III later (or vice versa). :)

Ok.Thanks for the answers...I aprreciate that. But are there anything else 4-1 exhaust systems besides Muzzy?Remus? Akrapovic? Anything else?
