Okay here are the things I have that I find to be a must..

1. Vista Cruise (great to give wrist a break)

2. Escort 8500 and Kennedy over ride

3. iPhone connected to Kennedy Over Ride (Like music on trips)

4. ER 6 in-ear headphones

Parts I will be getting soon...

1. Russel Day long (missed out on group buy) Around the 150 mile mark my butt starts to get sore..

2. Some kind of Risers (Help if you have a suggestion). I found my wrist to start getting sore about the 300 mile or 6 hour mark

3. Not sure if I need highway pegs, once I get my arse to feeling better :)

Overall, what a great day. Left at 6:45 in the morning and got back at 6:15 that evening.

Get thee a Russell ASAP. Your butt will thank you. Here's mine:

Heli risers. I have them on my '03, they're great! Made all the difference in comfort. Had some Grip Puppies for a while, too, but when they tore (as they will after a few months) I never replaced them, and I've gotten used to the standard grip. I might still redo them, though. Also, do a Google on "master yoda riding position." It'll help with the wrists, but not the butt.

How about some BMW grips? I used the folks at Chicago BMW, they knew what I needed, and I got a 20% discount.

Well done!

I hear ya on the VistaCruise. My most important farkle, and I have many.

I definitely will gve a strong second on the Heli-Risers. The BMW grips didn't do it for me, I am a big believer in the Tacki Grips. I have the Wild Bill Highway Pegs and find them to be a very useful farkle, but I generally ride more than 500 mile days. A custom seat is a very good thing. I love my Bill Mayer.

I believe the BMW grips you are talking about are already on my bike. I had to add them, because the stock grips caused the Vista Cruise to really stick when letting go of the throttle. The BMW grips I have fit perfect and I didn't need to cut away from stock grips (which I thought looked would look kind of ugly). So if these are they ones you are talking about they didn't work for me either.

What ya need is a set of balls. Live throught the pain.......pussy.

Hey... I kind of thought I was doing good there...ODOT. :)

I'm not against making things more enjoyable if I can. I'm sure you probably would be the kind to ride your bike 536 miles, just to be the tough guy... :)
