Well I did the deal today.

Thanks to all the info pointed out here by folks and on the other site.

As for syncing the throttle bodies, it was a piece of cake. Sooo much easier than trying to sync the carbs on Zed.

The 06 isn't all that different, other than the heat shield and T-bar that have to be removed.

Good for you! You know more about your bike, and have some extra Kaysh for more farkles... win-win if I ever heard of one...

Thanks for the step by step. B) I'm a fair backyard mechanic and look forward to work on mine as well. It's tough being at work these days when the sun is shining. :beach:

Good step-by-step. I linked it to the '06 Bin-o-facts'. Hope that's ok with you, if not let me know and I'll remove the link.

No that's completely fine. Feel free to borrow/steel any content or images too, any of that can be moved to FJRTech as well if needed.

Nice write up. Wondering if you've considered what it would take to get your mercury sticks to "defrag"? I suspect that pushing a column of mercury includes some impact on those bits up above even though the air gap would compress differenently than if it was all mercury.

They are in the lines above the pool (about the same distance above the pool too) so I don't think they affect the over all reading that much, but that's just my assumption and I'm going with that.

I'd love to know too. The've been like that for about a year and a half now. I can't get those little bits back in the bottom. I've tapped, I've shook, I've tried about everything, they just get smaller and eventually collect back to about what you see there. I figured tapping and gravity would help me out but it doesn't seem to matter.

If anyone knows how to fix this for sure I'm all ears.

Nice writeup, man! Where did you order the service manual from?

Also, as a beginning wrench (lacking experience, not mechanical skills or willingness), it's good to see that it's a snap to do a TBS. My tool is on order and I'll be doing a sync soon after I get the tool.
