The deal is I'm not sure if I will make it, or if I do if I can stay for the dinner(s). If I do send my money do I get a refund if I don't make it or can I pay at the event?

Second question, I don't see any rides listed anywhere? Are we going to do circles in the parking lot or get out and ride? :p

What, you missed MadMike's post about his group lead for sitting in the lot of the hotel with everyone on their bikes just sitting, motors off, going Vrrrroooom, vrooom, vrrrrrrooooommmmmmmmm!?

Slow speed (that's the hard part) parking lot practice. Cone weaves, quick stops, etc. You'll have lots of fun!

Yeah I've missed a lot of things lately. Real life has invaded by riding life, wrestled it to the ground and pinned it.

It's all still up in the air if I can make it. But if I can I'm going over Hwy 20 to Winthrop and maybe 2 back over Stevens Pass and Levenworth. Haven't done that loop yet this year. That should just about finish off this set of tires too.

Three days till August and it's still..,

"RIDE INFO

The WFO-4 Ride Coordinators still have this section in development..."

What's up with that?

Last year there were some great rides posted. BUT, we had just as much fun talking with those who had ridden the area before and having an "adventure". We found some great roads and scenery, and met some great peole (some who could ride the wheels off their FJR).

I, too, have looked at the Hwy 20/Hwy 2 loop...at least it looks good on the map!

Uhm, TWN, the only problem with the parking lot rides is that, since the engine is off, it really wears out the riding boots. And if anyone is complaining about the heat, just push your FJR around the parking lot for about 20 minutes! :D

I was told you can pay up to 3 days before, for the dinners and there will be groups going out to multible locations in the area at different times of the day, dosent make sence all 200 bikes riding together in one big pack. Just keep your ears open and join in the ride that sounds the best.

Thanks, Dan. See ya there. B)

Yeah Dan Ya said it alright. You suck at the ride development! :)

A ride up AND down Baker, A 15 mile blast on Chuckanutt and a 400 mile enduro on the Cascade Loop..., these are some piss poor suggested rides. Anybody riding in from eastern WA will already be on the Cascade Loop. Why is there no rides going west onto the peninsula?

snowmonkey why don't you plan a couple of rides and volunteer to lead the way.

Sharp has probably got his hands full with a lot of last minute details. :cownoy:

i know just about all the good roads in nw wash. and i will be at the rally. just look for the "large gentleman" with long hair and a beard riding one of the fast silver ones. i will be glad to mark up your map for you and give directions. if anybody wants to go out to the islands i can show the way.

QUOTE Yeah Dan Ya said it alright. You suck at the ride development! ...Not very nice I think.

Someone who is working to assist in helping to get people together deserves better.

Maybe some of you all that DO have the knowledge - help out and assist instead of pointing out what is wrong with others work.

I'm sure it will be a great time for all going...even better if the people with the ride knowledge HELP.

I would never want to organize something like this so my hat is off to whoever steps up to do it, even if I think it could be better.

My apology, if the quote above was entirely in jest. I didn't appear that way to me.

Have fun at WFO guys!!! Take lots of pictures!

It was all " semi - serious" .. I know Dan from previous rides. That's why the " smilie " was included. :D With 180 guys signed up I thought more options than three should be thrown out there, no need for maps . I just think recommendations on places to go would be a good start for the out of state guys / gals. B)

SO....snowmonkey is leading the ride to the peninsula. (It's okay if you don't, I've heard that others might do so) Starting with a ferry ride? What time? Where do we meet? Details, man, details!

Lessee, you'll be the guy in the lobby wearing the gorrilla head? The guy carrying the sign, "Follow me to the peninsula?"

Step 1. Check links for routes ideas. https://www.fjrowners.ws/discus/messages/18...html?1122851948 Scroll down to FJRoamer or blufjr for some interesting ocean front tours.

Step 2. Stop whining, realize you are now faced with a gazillion possible cool routes. Team up with a few like-minded souls at the first dinner, or in the parking lot. If you are the best whiner, follow the last group out of the parking lot, whether they want you or not.

Step 3. Come up with coolest route you can brag about at the next dinner. If you are a land-lubber, you better take one of the ferry routes. Find Oak Harbor. Find ferry to Port Angeles. Find Pacific Ocean. Return. Bonus cool points, find Vancouver Island... Why not...Nanaimo!

Note: Avoid entire Seattle area during Seafair. If coming from SoCal, turn left at Olympia, come up thru the peninsula to Whidbey Island. Note 2: Consider avoiding St. Helens during eruption, tho I think the eruption would be worth it if you got to run White Pass...

Good luck! Remember: photos, please, especially of the Angst involved in deciding what to do / where to go next.

Lessee, you'll be the guy in the lobby wearing the gorrilla head? MADMIKE, I'll take you for a ride out to the peninsula. But I think we should tip a few in the parking lot friday afternoon before you decide to follow me anywhere saturday. And no, I will not wear a gorilla head. I reserve that only for poker runs with my HD buddies.

Hey all,

Chooser and I just came over the Cascade loop yesterday. Some gravel coming up the east side, west side has more gravel and some construction bringing things down to one lane. Saturday might be a bit slow with it being a weekend and all. Also saw lots of forest rats along the way..... be careful out there. I was considering a loop to Baker for Saturday.

@mm2, Chooser will be contacting you and trying to hook up in Hood River....

See everyone on Friday. :D
