So last Sunday I had a great ride with some of the Boyz from the forum. Got home and took a shower, had dinner with the family. After dinner I fell asleep in the living room. I wake up about 11pm and decide to head to bed. When I walk out to turn off the front lights on the house I notice that my car isn't in the driveway but my son's truck is sitting there. I think to myself, If he wrecks my car I'm going to kick his butt.
Well about an hour and 20 minutes later my cell phone starts ringing on my nightstand? At first I thought I was dreaming, In fact when I answer it my son says Dad I need you to come over to Jones road. All of the sudden I realize I'm not dreaming when my wife sits up in bed and turns on the light. So I jump up and throw some clothes on and head to the scene. Jacob has already told me that he is fine but the car didn't fair so well.
When I arrive there is 2 cops there and I get a brief moment to talk to Jacob. Then one of the cops takes Jacob over and starts doing a sobriety test to insure that he hasn't been drinking or doing drugs. They issue him a ticket for failure to maintain his lane. He basically came around a corner too fast and lost control of the car, went down in the ditch sideways and hit a couple trees. The officer said she would wait for the tow truck so we were on our way.
Here's a picture of my beloved Lincoln LS the following day:
So the good outcome is that my son didn't get hurt and hopefully he learned something from this. And State Farm totaled the car and really took care of us and did it fast. I'm sure glad I didn't do stupid things when I was young.
