My brother Martin, an avid motorcyclist gave this advice to his son, also a motorcyclist....His son was nervous about entering college. Seems like a pretty sage lesson from a very good Dad.

“You are about to enter a new phase of your life - college. Look at it like an adventure, like the trip you took on the power lines dirt roads on the F650GS. You were nervous about it, but you were also actually brave enough to attempt it (I probably wouldn’t have been). College and life in general is an adventure – like riding the F650GS with Metzler tires in the dirt on the power lines – too much bike and not enough traction – you will likely fall down – if you do, you get up, brush yourself off, and keep going until the next spill, then do it again. Just keep going until you are back on pavement.”

I know the guy (King Ward) that wrote that book(Letters from a businessman to his son). Great guy, his son is a spoiled f'n tool though.
