So while the Asian bike manufacturers seem to be withdrawing, the Euro companies are still on a roll. Triumph in particular dioesn't seem to be letting the economy restrain them from coming out with new and interesting models.

Motorcyclist (I know it is a horrible mag, but I get it free) reported seeing a prototype version of a soon to be released Triumph Trophy. This has been an empty spot in the Triumph lineup since the demise of the 2nd gen Trophy a decade ago.

Here's the online version of the article: Motorcyclist Online - Spied: 2012 Triumph Trophy

They had best be careful, it looks like the big hole in the faring would let all the hot air out.

Those with longer legs may have a problem with the knee pockets.

I can tell you first hand that the old Trophy knew how to let the hot air out. Lots and lots of it.

That bike made the 1st Gen FJR feel cool in comparison. ;)

Not a bad looking bike. Any word on specs/etc?
Nothing "official". If they're road testing it that could be taken as a positive sign that they are near a "public" release.

The bet is that it would have a large, torque laden engine. IT would likely be more touring oriented since they already produce the Sprint GT and the Tiger SE.

We'll all be waiting and watching.

Good luck to them and the other Euro manufacturers who aren't sitting and waiting like the Asian producers seem to be doing.

I think it's supposed to be a 2012 model. The Hinckley folks promised to have seven new models by then including several in niches they weren't currently competing in. It's supposed to be brand new from the ground up, including the engine. And, it's their first shaftie.

Most of that stuff, though, comes from MCN, which also means "might have been made up over a pint."

Yab-butt... It does say it has adjustable foot pegs. This would be a kewel feature, especially while on the fly!

Triumph Trophy Triple Transformer (TTTT) anyone?

Looks pretty good in the pics...kind of a mix between an RT and C14. Be interested to see the standard features and if pricing is competitive in the marketplace. Gotta agree that the Euro manufacturers aren't sitting on their hands as it seems Japan Inc. is.
