To pass away at 45 is way too early for anyone. He changed the face of baseball forever in Minnesota. I remember getting out of school to watch the 87 World Series. And then again in 91. Good times!

Thanks for the memories Kirby and the championships you earned for us!

Touch 'em all, Kirby Puckett, touch 'em all.

MN native here, now living in WI. I was living in MN during the Kirby Puckett years. I liked Kirby because he always put in his best effort and he had enormous talent. Made for an expolosive combination that was a blast to watch, even for moderate fans like myself. Godspeed, Kirby.

I heard about the stroke, but I didn't hear he died until I read this.

I couldn't give a rat's *** if the Twinkies won or lost--I'm a Mets and Yankees fan (Mets first, of course).

But Puck was one of my all-time favorite ball-players, ever. He played with class, style, grace and joy, despite being the least-likely looking ball player since Roy Campanella. Just watching him play was FUN!

He was what the game could be at its best...Rest in Peace, Kirby.
