Just thought I'd put this up to show the sort of local road I have to put up with ;) . It's a video I took in June of this year, it's taken me a while to find a way of cutting out the most boring parts. The ride is a vey short loop, only a few miles, I've cut it from around 17 minutes to 13. (You can always stop when you get bored, or jump in part-way for a while.)

It suffers from vibration and poor sound, hopefully not too distracting. (Got to work on improving the mount.)

We start off about a mile from home, I'd stopped to start the camera, this was the first real trial of it on my brake reservoir mount. Then up the road a bit until we turn left and get to a national speed limit bit, 60 on a single carriageway road.

Follow this for a couple of miles, then a sharp right turn to a windy and hilly road, where we manage an FJR overtake of a car (who was actually pushing the speed limit himself).

Then enter a 30 bit, and left turn, 40 then 50 limits. Come up behind a van, get a splash of water on the screen, takes a while for it to dry, but it never clears for the rest of the ride.

Having cleared him, we follow the road, enter a 40 to some traffic lights, as we slow they turn green! You are privileged, that almost never happens to me.

Now we just keep on following until I turn sharp left, this truncates my usual 40- or 60-odd mile outing - I was only testing the camera and its mount.

Up behind a couple of cars, the car turns off at crossroads, we follow the other and pass him - an old Land Rover, no challenge whatsoever.

Now we're heading towards home, past a quarry (road is very slippery when wet, but we're dry), a brief 30 bit through a village, very brief, I cut it out).

A final two or three miles, nice twists and turns.

Then the straight to within a mile of home - the video stops abruptly.

I actually feel very fortunate to have such roads so close to home.

Thanks for the ride! Got to spend 3 years over there in the military but unfortunately never owned a street bike there. Did have a pristine '82 Mini and a '79 MG Midget though; both of which were a blast to drive the roads there. Doesn't look like you have too many Bobbies patrolling those roads, to worry about.
