So is the portrayal supposed to be darksiders or Gold Wingers?

Barry????

Oh, ****, he won't know, he's been both!

That cartoon was in "Rider" magazine.

They did an "article" on the darkside. It turned out to be no more than an proof-less regugitation of garbage and rehashed arguments. They used NO personal experiences. ANYONE could glean 10 times the info from our darkside tread in 5 minutes, pro and con then by reading the whole story. When I bought the mag I was hoping to read and article with a professional rider doing oh, I don't know... mayby a back to back test, on a single bike, on a track, woth an objective opinion rendered.

I was bitterly dissapointed. It was just another hit piece written to protect their advertisers. I no longer trust "Rider" for any objective info.

They also included the BMW 6 cyl yacht in their "sport-touring" comparo. BS detector went off the scale.

Supertanker...Your evaluation of that article is right on.

I have subscribed to Rider since about 2002. I always liked the safety articles and the tech section. Until this article, I actually thought Eric Trow had some good things to say.

He started off by berating a guy that wanted to attend one of his pretentious safety rides with a car tire. THEN, he says he had never even heard of someone mounting a car tire on a MC.

This guy is a "Motorcycle Safety Expert" who works for a motorcycle magazine and he's never even HEARD of it. That means he's either stupid or a liar...And I don't think he's stupid.

He was closed minded and ignorant when he wrote that piece, and I agree with you about making a judgement without even trying it. BUT think about this...Three pages from his article was an advertisement for motorcycle tires, and page 2 of the Mag is almost always a motorcycle tire advertisement.

Imagine the fallout from those advertisers if he actually endorsed a car tire. I bet the editors would have never let it go to print...Reason enough for me to skip his articles now. Besides...I don't like liars.

I know, however, these articles are covered in the veneer of truth and factslike a veneer of Mohogany over particleboard. I sincere wish is tht darksideng would/will pressure motorcycle tire makers to work on longevity.
