They tend to get a bad rap, especially from folks that have not tried them. Tires, like oil, can be very emotional for some.I just put a Shinko rear tire on my wife's Ninja. I like the tread pattern and hopefully it's a good tire.
At least you tried them and then commented. Why the YMMV. I found them to be more than satisfactory for 2 up touring purposes. My riding abilities are no where near the FJR abilities, so I don't need every ounce of grip out of the tires. Thanks for the read !!I tried the Shinko Ravens last year, never felt confident in the twisties. Got a huge puncture in the rear tire leaving Murphy N.C., switched back to PR2's when I got back home.
Not a fan of the Shinko's
This just in...any rubber tire regardless of brand will puncture if you run over a sharp object.Got a huge puncture in the rear tire leaving Murphy N.C., switched back to PR2's when I got back home.
LOL...yeah I know. I'm not a tire snob at all. Quite frankly I've run several different Michelin's, Dunlop's & Metzerler's on my other bikes and all the tires were fine. Arguing over oil or tires is complete nonsense. Technology is so good today that most tires & oil are good. They tend to get a bad rap, especially from folks that have not tried them. Not sayin it was a fault of the tire... :mda: but it was a good excuse to get rid of them. This just in...any rubber tire regardless of brand will puncture if you run over a sharp object.Got a huge puncture in the rear tire leaving Murphy N.C., switched back to PR2's when I got back home.![]()
