The Betas look nice. Local shop sells them, need longer legs to straddle one.

Funny how the Honda XR650L looks unchanged since it first came out.

Guess I could say that about the Suzuki DR650, which has remained virtually unchanged since '96.

Picked up a '14 DR650 last week.....

Thanks for this Don! I recently purchased a 2010 DR650 and my riding buds are looking in the off road direction as well. I haven't got room for two bikes so the FJR is on the block. We're hoping to get geared up and farkled up to see a lot of dirt between here in the Okanagan and the Mexican border. At 65 it's exciting to find a new adventure!

jmgrif: Even though I can no longer ride dirt, I still love getting off road in my Jeep. Four of the Gentlemen that rode off road to Huasteca, Mexico with your fellow Canadian yamafitter-Billy Fitz, Brian Boles/Barry McRary/Bob Little/Darrell Wells, are discussing a Baja Expedition next Spring! You are Invited, eh!

I'd be the support vehicle in my Liberty Diesel: Carrying supplies, spares, gear bags, air compressor and tool boxes! https://littlebobandfriends.com/journeys/huesteca-2015.html

Don!!! You need to quit being a pussy pesimist and work on a positive attitude. Lot of folks have come back from injury. Start lifting beer stiens with that right arm instead of personal parts. It's not as big as you think.:) :) :) :) For dual sport drink with the right and masturbate with the left. If you can switch hands and gain a stroke you're getting there.:) :)

That Husky 701 has my britches tight. If that subframe will support some baggage the only other issue would be fuel capacity. I can live with 175 miles but 200-250 would be better.

Keep me in the loop for Baja. I might need a ride to break in my new 2016 WR450F....

Sweet, my '09 is black instead of gray but even the decals are the same! I put Cogent DDC's and Eibach .48 springs in the fork. For $275 it is an amazing upgrade, now I need to save up $600 for the Cogent Mojave shock! Have a blast!
