ABS Light stays on and then goes off after restart

I noticed that the abs engaged when I hit a small patch of dirt while light braking. As I got close to home also noticed that the ABS light remained on. Got home turned off the bike and then restarted, light briefly went on and then off as normal, no other problems since. Is that normal, should I get the system checked, any others have the same experience?
