That depends on a lot! How well did the guy take care of it? Was it ever dropped or wrecked? Any other farkles besides the trunk?

I think $7000 is a reasonable price if it is in good shape. No there was no ABS on the 2003.

The 2005 may have ABS, it may not, both options were available. I'd go for the 2005 if I were you, especially if it has ABS.

After 2003 they upgraded the brakes, stiffer suspension, and a few other things.

I have a 2004 FJR non abs I bought new in 2004. Very clean with top box, heated grips, throttlemeister, custom corbin seat, New Cee Bailey windscreen and headlamp protectors. Recent 12,000 mile service and new Z6 metzlers. Bike has just over 13,000 miles. I have four bikes and the wife says that's too many. The bike has never been down or droped and runs perfectly. I am asking $8,750, make me an offer I can't refuse. If you are interested [email protected]. I have photos if you are interested send me an e-mail.

Have fun and ride safe,

Steve

ABS Was available as an option in model years 2004-2005.

The brakes on the FJR from the first model until model year 2005 are unlinked brakes. The front brake is fully independant from the rear brake.

From model year 2006 onward all FJR's have ABS.

Also starting 2006 the bikes support some form of linked brakes. Application of one brake slightly affects the other. Sorry, dont know the specifics at the moment as I dont own one of these. But I think (and anybody feel free to correct me) that application of the back brake applies one piston/caliper on the front brake.

Hope this helps

Colin
