Those pins are really fragile. It's tough to suck up and pay that much for a dumb wire that should have been made more robust for repeated connect/disconnect cycles. I recently got one after living with a broken connector for a year.

Well it also doesn't help when you pull the Top Box and forget to disconnect first. DAMHIK. But yes those are some fragile pins.
