adverse affect of engine mounted pegs

probably been beat to death already

with highway pegs that mount to engine side cases, has there been any affect on cases, such as stress or leaks from these things ?

it's only weds but please feel free to pile on

Some have pried covers if the bike goes down with the pegs out. Mine simply bent the plate the pegs bolts to.

you would have to do a search but it seems I remember someone damaging the covers to the point of having to replace them after they went down. About 3 or 4 months ago if memory serves me correctly.

Also take care that the replacement cover screws (5mm cap screws) that hold the highway peg mounting plate don't work loose over time. This can happen due to the stress induced by the added load. Blue loctite helps. Don't ask me how I know...
