OK so I'll fill up the board with a 1st impressions post..

I am coming of a modified Bandit1200..

OMG this bike is smooth!

Power is very different than the Bandit, but I think they are about the same..with the nod to the FJR.

Bandit had 1k worth of suspension, so it wins hands down...the FJR requires a lot of concentration at this point for me. I have some Sonic 1.2kg spring ordered, so I hope that helps, and I am going to change the fork oil as well. I am currently looking for a Wibers or Penske shock.

Gas Mileage...FJR hands down! I gotta carry a little jug with me..so I can see how far she will go till empty.

My farthest is 250 miles.

Does everyone feel a little Vibration at 3k or so? I havent nailed it down to the motor or final drive yet.

I am nervous about the splines not being lubed, and look forward to first oil change, because I will pull the wheel and lube everything up, as well as change the fluid. I am avoiding the topic as to which final drive oil to use...your welcome. :)

I still need more height from the windscreen. How does one measure the height? from the bottom of the bracket ot the top..If I recall it was 17 or 19" depending on where you measure..(no comments from the peanut gallery please)..all the aftermarket ones say +4 +2 for height and width..+4 from what I ask? 17 or 19?

..and I am embarrased to say that I only have one mod so far..the FZ1 mirrors, but at least I took the A B C D panels off, and they went back together with no extra pieces!

also..the bike came with 2 set of bar risers..Heli and a no name brand.. I quicky removed them and did 1 370 mile day.. oh my aching back! so I put the no name brand back on since it had the lowest rise, but I dont care for the pull back..I am tall..I just want them UP a little not back. I will need to put on another high mileage day to see how they do. <sigh> ;)

All in all I love this bike..and am waiting to motovation frame sliders to come in..plastic is expensive if you screw up!
