Is there anyone manufacturing a quality rear shock assembly for a Gen II fjr that has a remote preload option? I bought the Wilbers during a previous group buy for my '05 and really like that feature as I ride 2 up on it on a regular basis.

They all do. Penske, Wilbers, Ohlins...
Still no Ohlins part number on their web site for the Gen II's.
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that they might be interchangeable. Highlander yanked his Wilbers off his '04 and slapped it on his '06 with no issues. That would suggest that bolt patterns are same. But, that is pure speculation on my part.

The width of the thrust bearing is different. In my GEN2 the space had been decreased and I had to get another set from GP for my penske. All is well after that.

Thanks for the replies, though very few of these companies list a remote preload option for the Gen II fjr1300.

I called Klaus today. He will have an answer for me next week. Those Hyperpro shocks look very interesting, too.

Are you sure that the only difference between Gen I and Gen II is the spacer width?

Have you called and talked to someone knowledgeable (Traxxion, Aftershocks, GP Suspension, et al), or are you relying on internet and print catalogs, etc.? Some shock assemblies can have the remote preload added, and the Penskes (w/ remote preload) were sold in the last GP Suspension group buy.
