ON THE ROAD ...(reside in AZ-85338, CA-96150,
I'm a few days away from departure for a 10,000+ mile adventure, which I'm calling "FJR Fall Full Circle". :clapping: It might still be summer, but I'll be on the road until mid-October. Thought I'd post this up since I'll be meeting several characters, I mean forum members, along the way as well as finally getting the ignition warranty work done on the bike (wish me luck on both, eh?).

I'll be posting full Journey Reports: HERE, but I'll get some pics up on this page as well. Below is the map reflecting my general route, which includes a lot of dispersed camping (who said the FJR isn't a camping bike?!?), significant backcountry hiking, and a myriad of Scenic Byways:

I appreciate the plethora of suggestions and offers of support I've received from folks. I would especially like to thank ExtremeMarine for his help.

Let us know if you need anything when you get to NY, I do an alright steak and the beer is free. :)

That looks AWESOME!! I have wanted to do one of those rides myself but don't have the solid block of time to do so.

What part of Virginia are you riding through?

Wow, looks great! I'll be leaving on my own 6 week journey starting August 28th and will be covering many of the same roads!

Hey Girl,

I'll be leaving approx two weeks after you- starting in Boston and heading west- Similar to your northern route but in the opposite direction. I'm planning about 10 days to get to west coast. Hope that's reasonable. If you're still around the Great Lakes around Sept 2nd-3rd, perhaps we'll cross paths! I'm sure I'll be craving your route advice.

Be careful out there- Hope you're back in the NE soon.

Bust-- Do I get the same 'escort' service if I pass through central MI? I am heading toward the UP I think.

Hey Russ, I'll do what I can to see you through the lower part of this mitten :D Just let me know when you anticipate passing through ;)

I would love to do this someday.

It would be nice to know a rough estimate of the final cost for this trip for future planning. As soon as i hit the lottery I am out of here.

Good luck and be safe out there.

Bust,

Thanks for the offer. Trying to decide now if I'm going north of Lake Ontario or south of Lake Erie. Depends how much time I want to spend in Canuckistan. I like the Montreal area for riding but have never bee too far west of there on a bike.

I want to go across the UP en route to Minneapolis area then South Dakota direction.

So If I end up in central MI during a reasonable spot on the clock dial I may stop for a bit. I've heard that Michigan hospitality can't be beat!

Thanks!

I should be in the Montana/Idaho/Wyoming area September 2nd or 3rd headed east to South Dakota for a week. My route isn't set yet; still have a few weeks to make that decision along with whether or not I go for a SS1000 or SS1500.

Well, your missing E. Washington and N. Idaho all together. Theirs some cool stuff up our way especially N. Idaho and Western Montana. Just MHO. :) I know things have to make the cut so I do totally understand.

Greetings Agirl,

Just looked at your Blog. It looks as though you will be riding in Tennessee in the September timeframe unless I've miscalculated. If I'm not off, & that is indeed when you'll be passing through, you may consider coming over to meet mondo FJR owners at the Eastern Owners Meeting taking place in Johnson City, TN, September 18, 19 & 20th.

If we don't see ya', just wanted to tell ya' to have a very safe & fun trip,

Heidi

Good call Heidi.

I don't know if the orgs have already lined a guest speaker up, but I for one would love to be regaled with some of the adventure stories that I know Agirl has locked away in her brain. I've read some of her previous ride reports and she is one of my FJR heroes.
