I won a set of the block off plates at EOM last year and finally decided to use then last Friday.....

My Question is, with the plates bolted down there seems to be air leaking out from under them is this normal?

I want to make sure as we have a 12-1400 mile run thru Death valley next week and I don't want it breaking down in the middle of no where....

Thanks

No not normal... did you leave in the little valve? Did you take the little valve out and grind down the little nub ? If not take the little valves out, grind the nub off, and reinstall under your new plates.... If you have any other questions I will be happy to help...

FL,

The reed valves should have been left in. They create the rubber seal to stop any air leakage. There is clearance provided for the knub on the reed valves and no grinding necesary. Some people have used sealent just as an added precaution but as far as I know you are the first with this issue.

Problem solved....Thanks to a man in Texas.

The reed valves were stuck on the original plates when i removed them.....

I have some work to do tomorrow now.
