...completely and totally sucks horse ****. This industry should just die and go the **** away. Now. No, make that yesterday. Hurry up and ******* die, you piece of **** enema-sucking ****** bags! You're not even worthy of handling the overflowing, month-old colostomy bags of leprosy riddled giant hagfish!

:***:

That is all.

An insult to hagfish everywhere, being compared to the airline industry....

It pains me to say this, but it is time for the heavy hand of government regulation to step in and take control of this industry back. Clearly competition here is not working. What other industry can you promise nothing deliver less and still be guaranteed customers the next day.

I really came out of the closet on this post. First, I publicly called for increased government. Second, I publicly agreed with TWN. I'm frightened to think of what else I will do publicly today!

Yep....and the family wonders why I prefer to drive to L.A. rather than fly.

Yeah, sure...you betcha!

Seems to be hit and miss with me, lately...about 50%. I flew last week - every leg was on time and the crew was actually somewhat friendly. They were all morning flights, so, maybe that explains it.

Man, I'm right there with you! My backside is still aching from the dry-pumping the airline industry gave me over the weekend.

Flew to San Jose for a biz trip on Thursday and planned to take the red-eye homet on Saturday night. I finished early and got to the airport at 10:30 am on Saturday to catch an earlier flight. They inform me that there is no way I can make it home that day. WTF?! I can make it to Charlotte, NC (I'm going to the Big Easy), but not home. So, I glumly accept my fate and head to NC, at least I'll catch a few hours sleep in a hotel room rather than on the flight. 5 am the next morning, I head to the airport only to be informed that my flight home was cancelled. "I'm sorry," says the guy at the ticket counter, "we don't have a crew, they didn't get an eight hour break. You've been rebooked on a flight at 9:05 tonight." Fine, I can understand that if it's an airport with only, say 10-20 crews available. But this is a major ******* hub with hundreds of crews to choose from!

I didn't let that get to me, though, and went stand-by on to the next available flight a few hours later. This one is routed through Memphis, then to NO. As we taxi out to the runway, I fall asleep. I awaken to hear the captain say, "Sorry folks, as you may have noticed, we're heading back to the terminal. Memphis has a ground-stop due to fog." I look at my watch, holy ****! We've been out here for an hour just sitting. :angry2:

So, we get back to the terminal and the airline switches me over to another airline to "speed" my arrival home. It only took them 45 minutes to **** their way through computer process. But, hey, I'm in not hurry, right? When they finally were able to issue the ticket, they said I better run because the flight leaves in 20 minutes. After a healthy jog across the airport, I hand my boarding pass to the agent and the scanning machine goes buzz. "I'm sorry sir, this isn't a valid boarding pass," he says. So, I'm thinking, "Oh boy, here we go." Luckily, another agent stepped up and said, no, it's good, he just heard from the other airline.

The rest of the way home was uneventful. :glare: But, dammit, it should not take 26 frickin' hours to go from San Jose to NO! I've flown to Russia faster than that!

I used to fly a lot but I have not flown since 1984 when I had the same jet crash dream at least once or twice every night for several months. Finally I said "I will never fly again" and son of a gun the dream stopped.

I flew 12 times last year and once this year so far. I have yet to return home on time. I'm sitting on a $250 travel voucher from one airline because of "over-booked" flights.

I know better than to expect much from airlines. I'd much rather be surprised to arrive on time than pissed off about missing a connecting flight, leaving on time or losing my luggage. It's just not worth the aggravation IMHO.

It does suck desert lizard balls, and I'd prefer to take to the road...

Fly early and fly non-stop :)

One thing has never changed about the airlines. They only care about frequent fliers!

Suckers!! :p

My wife is a pilot for Piedmont Airlines (subsidiary to U.S. Airways). She HATES the way the company is ran!!!! Extremely inefficient and careless. The company wastes a lot of money and time in how they do business.
