I'm looking for a transmitting burglar alarm system for the FJR. I want to be paged if somebody messes with the bike. I've used these systems before but don't have any current experience with today's offerings.

Looking for your experiences and opinions on what works.

Models, features, satisfaction?

I have installed a few of these, they work pretty well and have a reasonable range on the FM transmitter as long as you run the antenna lead properly.

They have a winter special going on right now. I just ordered one for my new '08. Make sure you get the new style remote with the rechargeable battery(SR i500 package B) ! https://www.scorpioalarms.com/

Other than that there are some sophisticated GPS enabled units that are pretty decent. https://www.digitalguardiangps.com/

I've got a Scorpio system installed on my '06. Range of the remote is pretty good as long as you're not too far in the depths of big buildings. Install was easy and straight forward. I bought it from Wing Worx a couple years ago. PM me if you'd like to take a look at it...

I have the beta version of a new alarm installed on my bike that should be available later this year.

The Phantom-X is a small, self contained siren/control module with a battery, starter-immobiliser, and transceiver.

The fob has to be within 6 feet of the bike or it won't start. It has a tilt sensor as well and flashes the lights while paging me and sirening like crazy.

What I like about it is that I keep it in the pocket of my riding jacket and it 'just works' without any intervention on my part, but if someone moves the bike and the fob is out of range, thar she blows.

Search on "Phantom-X" on Google and perhaps you'll find it.

Scorpio here have had no issues & would install it again. Only comment I have is that there is a minimum of control buttons which do several functions, if not used regularily some of the less used functions are easy to forget how. Best of luck

The first thing I put on my 07 was a Scorpio SR-i500 with all the options. I still have the bike, the alarm went off twice and I was paged. No complaints here.

I'm in the same boat, still trying to find out all the options. You may also want to take a look at the Talon systems. Here is a review of the 2200 series:

I thought it was interesting, but I'm still looking.
The Talon system does not transmit from the bike to a pager. It only transmits from the pager to the alarm for set and disarm. This kind of alarm can be bought on ebay for a song.
