Alarm Systems

Hey guys, do any of you have any experience with alarms for FJRs. We're going to be touring the states in Sept / Oct this year and would like to fit an alarm system to our bike. Can you please post your experience with any alarms and any recommendations you might have.

Like the Gorilla paging alarm which I got on Ebay for $135. and has worked perfectly for 3 yrs. A riding bud has one on his Blackbird for years too and it works well. It has all kinds of different settings which you can program to suit yourself.

I've had a Scorpio for about 4 years and really like it. It's a very small box which makes it easy to mount just about anywhere on the bike. Can also get a proximity sensor and engine kill features. I tried a gorilla (on a CBR600RR) and found it to be a little too big, but the FJR has a lot more space.

The Scorpio is more expensive - around $300.

I put a gorilla on the last 4 bikes I've owned. Excellent-cheap insurance. Last one purchased on Amazon for $74.00 delivered.

The Scorpio i500 is good.

The proximity sensor did it's job one night at a motel.

A bit expensive but you can swap to your next bike.
