Daughter has been offered a position in Albuquerque, and looks like she will accept.

Going to take my Grandkids and run.

Her workplace will be near Academy Rd. NE & Wyoming Blvd NE.

Would appreciate any insight to what the city is like places to avoid, areas to look for housing, ect., ect..

If the reviews are good enough may even pack my bags too. I don't like having the grandkids get away!

Hot off the Press. Just found out, she has a choice of work places. Albuquerque or Tucson.

Too many choices Help.

I'm sure AJ will be along to give the straight story. I'm sure you would like the riding but the SW bunch led by Beemerdons are a bit strange.

I have friends in Rio Rancho - I'd move there in a heartbeat if I get the chance.

What to avoid? From what I learned of that place last June, tell her to avoid the entire city during the months of June, July and August. My soul, it gets hot out there.

Got one of my boys headin' that way too Aireboss. Air Force base out there. Guess I'll have reason to head that way as well over the next few years.

I've got a buddy from way back when who's lived there for many years and he loves it. You get used to the heat.

I've been going to Alburqurque regularly for almost 20 years. It's a great city. If she's going to work in the area you mentioned, there are a butt load of nice neighborhoods that are close by. Send her a picture of HotRodZilla and tell her to stay the hell away from that guy!

You're Welcome! :)

After having watched Breaking Bad and knowing HotRodZilla lives there I would like to visit.

Best regards

Surly

+1, Gunny; I love New Mexico, great riding and spectacular scenery. As others have mentioned, there is one really prickly ******* that lives in Albuquerque. Karl, come move to the Southwest! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

Karl, I LOVE Tucson. As you know I headed up the Pipefitting Division for Metro Mechanical based in Phoenix for over twenty years, I tried my damnedest to get the Owners to open up a branch office in Tucson. I wanted so badly to live in Tucson, 1K feet higher in elevation than Central Arizona so it is 10F degrees cooler at all times! https://www.visittucson.org Karl, if you move to Tucson I'll teach you the secret Southwest FJR Forum handshake! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

I'd take Albuquerque over Tucson any day of the week. Tucson is nice, buy it's a furnace during the summer. My grandmother, aunt and uncle live there. 114 degrees on a July day is not uncommon.

Karl, if you want, PM me. I'll send you my number and we'll talk. Albuquerque, like everywhere else has good and bad.

We lived in Tucson for 2 years, beautiful winters, unbearable summers. The schools suck. Snakes, scorpions and bees are not your friends. Albuquerque would definitely be the choice for me.

Thanks A J, very happy your willing to talk to me about Albuquerque.

I'm getting the drift from the KID that a big part of this decision will rest on the comp package and there could be quiet a difference. If she does chose Albuquerque I sure do want to talk about it. Thanks again.

Don, thanks for your response, I'm sure I could stand being around A J, I mean I never won any beauty contests myself.

I'm about half way to pulling the trigger and moving to the Southwest myself.

Got my car stuck in my own driveway this morning, snowblower won't start (moisture in the electronics?), and another 2 - 4" forecast for tonight.

Karl, alburquerque is the way to go if all things are equal. Have Beemerdons send you that picture of AJ looking like Shrek! Have her put it on the refrigerator door. Just like a wanted poster. You're Welcome! :)

She chose Tucson.

She'll be making a visit to Tucson tomorrow for the rest of the week. Guess I'll get the report Sunday.
