Gotta say a big thanks to Rogue and everyone else that helped us with phone numbers finding a new tire. We were extremly blessed by a awesome Harley rider who stopped and offered us help. He went and got an air tank and a plug kit, when that failed he went and got his truck and trailer and took us back to Reno. Big Valley Honda had a set of Pilot Powers left and was kind enough to call in one of their mechanics to change the tires. We set back out and made it as far as Klamath Falls, OR. Tomorrow Crater Lake National park....and on to Indy. Big thanks again to all who helped get us back on the road. It was great to put faces with names and Beth and I has a truly awesome time at WFO. Thanks to all the crew who put in the time to make it happen!

Wow! Truly an awesome testament to bikers no matter the iron, or aluminum they ride. To get a patch kit and then to trailer you is awesome! Kudos to Big Valley Honda too! This story helps me to want to be even nicer than my already mean self!

The Harley Dude saves the FJR guy.

I think this qualifies for one complete week of NO HARLEY BASHING on the board. None.

Signed,

The owner of an FJR and a HD.... :)

Good to hear it all worked out...

BVH (Big Valley Honda) is a great shop - too bad they don't selll FJR's.

When I lived in Reno I always shopped there first as they were awesome.

Richie Thorwaldson (original owner was Rich Thorwaldson - former Suzuki team riders (back in the day), inventor, senior class road racer- who passed away a couple of years ago in a wreck at Sears Point) are the best. even visited them the first day of WFO and let them ogle the feejer. I think they might have come over and glommed a demo ride !!!

Also props to Dirty Dave's Cycle who had his mechanic come in Sunday morning to mount my Avons. All for the normal $25/tire mounting fee (no "Sunday rates"). After that SS1K, my rear (uh, tire) was toast.

The hell it did... I spanked that Biotch with a plugged tire! I wonder if BB and I ran across a box of screws some d'weed tossed on the road at the end of our Saturday ride... :glare:

It was the squirrel. I saw a metallic glint in his front paw just as I turned him into Arkansas stew meat.

Glad to hear you made it Groo! Well done! We were thinking about you when we were getting tires put on and wondering if you found any. I ended up with Michelin pilot sports because it was what he had in stock. They stick real good on mountain twisties.

Nate, sorry to hear about your tire troubles. Glad it worked out for you and Beth. Kudos to the HD guy who helped you out. Way above and beyond the call, it seems.

Nice to finally meet you both at WFO, and hope to get to ride together a little closer to home (or not) some day soon.

Hope your trip was half as good as mine. Some times even a break down can turn into an adventure. Knock wood....
