Mine was (and until I can find something to tighten it without marring it, is) loose. It looks like maybe 36 mm, more or less? Can someone confirm the size, and the torque to apply?

Thanks!

85 ft.lb. and 36mm for a Gen II. Can't confirm for later Gen.

You need a 36 mm socket with thin walls - the first one I purchased online didn't fit due to the tight space between nut and handle bars...

I'm talking about the one in the center, just "below" (or "behind") the Yamaha emblem. No clearance issues there.

My 2016 tripple clamp has a raised "section" right next to the nut, and my first socket was too think to fit between that and the nut . I ordered a thin wall socket and it fit. Maybe the socket doesn't have to seat all the way, but with the extremely high torque that is required, I felt better when the socket would go all the way down...I can see that older models didn't have this "problem". I was trying to attach a picture, but not obvious how to accomplish that here...
