Any thoughts preferences on this?
I currently have a classic AAA. Should I upgrade to allow Motorcycle coverage or start a standalone AMA membership?

Roadside assistance is included with my AMA membership.

As a member for over 25 years it seemed like a no-brainer.

It covers all the vehicles in my household. And it works.

...at no added expense if you are already a member. If you aren't an AMA member and/or don't intend to become one for any other reason, then that would be an expensive way to get roadside assistance coverage.

I am a member (for other reasons) and have it.

I have roadside assistance thru AAA, AMA, HOG & my Foremost moto insurance plan. Haven't used any of them yet but it's there if/when I need it.

I have both AAA and AMA.

I did not join AMA for roadside assistance, I did so because I believe that what they do is necessary to insure our MC rights and privileges.

They are to the motorcyclist what the NRA is to the American citizen.

Good enough reason to sign up as a member, I guess. Thanks !

I have AMA and as said it covers all my vehicles - I had the occasion to use it earlier this year and it was no hassle and efficient

Now one thing to consider in the your decision is the max "included" towing - I have heard people complain AMA is not enough ( 35 miles) and that is why they don't use it

I have to be honest i Joined AMA for the cover - I do like a lot, not all, of what the do however , but a lot of their focus is in area's i dont participate like offroad etc

I have AMA and we only have one data point on the roadside assistance. This was a few years ago, not too long after they started offering the service. My wife got a flat in our van, with our two youngest, one was a toddler and one an infant. She called the AMA number and they said it would be about an hour. An hour later she called back and they said they hadn't even contacted anyone, yet. Luckily, a fine older gentleman helped her change the tire. They never saw anyone show up.

I have roadside assistance on my GEICO policy.
