It'a a piece of cake... all the possible answers are a multiple of 9, so when you're looking at the table, look at the symbols next to 9, 18, 27, 36, etc... they're all the same. It changes the symbols around each time you do a new test, but all the crucial ones (i.e. multiples of 9) have symbols that are alike, so the program knows the answer in advance...

Not multiples of 9.

The answer will always be 0, 9, 14, 18, 27, 36, 45, 51, 52, 54, 61, 63, 72, or 81.

The answers will be multiples of 9. Let x and y be the two digits of your number, so that your number is 10x + y. Subtract the sum of the digits: x + y and you have 10x + y - (x+y) = 10x + y - x - y = 9x. Your answer is always 9 times the first digit in the number you chose.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Guess what I do for a living!

Ahh yes, I was looking blindly at the answers instead of the possible solutions which are all products of 9.
