Did any of you see the "American Pickers" episode on the History Channel a couple of days ago showing a guy in Mississippi who has over 2000 motorcycles just laying in heaps in his overgrown "yard"? It amazed me how this guy was able to identify what make, model, and year a particular part came from just by looking at it. He was totally reluctant to part with anything he had though which I suppose would put him in the hoarder class of collectors. Anybody know where that place actually was?

Its on again Thursday at 10.

Yes Chris I watch that show all the time, it is amazing what those guys find......

Yea, he had a huge assortment of stuff and roughly categorized everything into areas. It's funny when they dig out that springer fork and the guy's like "Yep, I'm going to use that."...cough, ok, lol. Amazing memory though.

I thought the episode with the fella that built tunnels through his collections was pretty amazing.

I've seen an episode or two, but every time I see the name of the show I imagine a bunch of guys sitting around picking their noses.

I really don't understand how my mind works sometimes.

Missed that episode, but we really enjoy that show. It's got to be a bit like Christmas for those guys when they go out and find something great. I'm guessing profit's down quite a bit for them right now, though. Discretionary spending for the kind of stuff they collect and sell has got to be far lower than it has been. When I see some of the crap they buy, I find it hard to believe they'll get great resale.

On the other hand, there's always something I'd enjoy having. I don't really collect anything, but perhaps a few vintage hats here and there when I see 'em.

I've seen a couple of episodes; is that the one where they couldn't get him to sell anything except finally an old bicycle that when they dug it out it was froze up and basically was junk?

I think the pickers are in Iowa, yes? I haven't tried to look them up online.

They kind of piss me off sometimes by talking people out of things at low ball prices.

On the other hand, I do enjoy seeing some of the things they find and I guess it's better to save some of that stuff before it rots away.
