Semi-automatic transmition......Linked ABS brakes......what's next? An airbag?

I just don't see the FJR as the platform on which to introduce something like this. Isn't it a lot more likely on some full touring rig? (BMW LT, GL1800, etc?). Of course, I guess the FJR is the most touring-like of the Yami's these days??

I dunno, but some of the 'stars are pretty cushy rides, and decked out with bags and trunk.

Yea, but maybe market research shows the Vtwin crowd is even less likely to go for something like this than the ST crowd. Dunno, sure will be interesting to see it play out, though.

I didn't think ST stood for Scooter Tourer ;)

Actually, it's more likely on a full-on sportbike- remember Ducati using them in World SuperBike a while back, and a brief appearance in MotoGP early this year (before pitching both Capirossi and Checa within minutes of each other). Anyway, a Canadian company makes them, can be fit to most any bike it looks like.

Website- look for "ShiftFX"

the Gay FJR Owner's Club of ******* unable to Shift (Gay FOCRS)

:D :D

:p

Oh yeah, linked brakes..... :bad:

More than likely a Latte dispenser (got to make some use of the engine heat). :haha:
Yeah or wrap your lunch in tin foil stick it under the tupperware and now you have a FJR-B-Q :D

I figure the "Wings" will get the air bags first. Gold Wing = 2 wheeled Accord

**** that. With that engine? No way.

Anyway, if they do that, it would be as queer as a three-dollar bill.

I LIKE to shift. I LIKE to use the clutch. I LIKE being in control. Hello? Hello?

The thought of a push button shifter really turns me off, but I have been reading a bit more about them. They shift much faster that the traditional layout and Yamaha has in the past been the Innovator to introduce new things on a model. I agree, I don't think the FJR is the platform to introduce it on, but it could be they know something we don't about performance. Just a thought.

Found a Ducati from early 2000's on Craiglist that has the paddle shifters...super sport bike...interesting...just like the formula one cars, Aston Martin Vanquish and a few others as it gets more mainstream. you know, I bet there are some RPM and Throttle combos that could really be difficult to handle with that kind of shifting...good luck keeping the front wheel down!!!

an '06 for your grandma? Well well now, I'm a grandma and I'm perfectly happy with my '05 FJR as it is!
