i.e. with a bunch of old men standing around them talking about riding. :-D I worked with forumite (if I remember his name right) Dave (blue bike) at turn 2 all weekend for WSB and had a great time. Most of the races I work you'll move to a different corner each day so you don't get stuck with a jerk all weekend (like Dave did) but I didn't mind it as we had some great conversation.

Packing up my VFR for the ride home.

I agree with the guy with his laid over in the turn, I love to ride the twenties on mine.

That VFR brings back memories, I sure miss mine.

I think this is an FJR's natural habitat...
What is that funny doohda on the back? Is that a rear slider?! If so, where did you get that?

I have been looking at canyon cages and others, but those look kinda nice!

I got them here- https://www.bike-design.com/en/product/37733/crash-protection-kit?from=%2Fen%2Fcategory%2F254%2Fcrash-protection%3Ff%255Bbd%255D%255Bman%255D%3D323%26f%255Bbd%255D%255Bmod%255D%3D2070%26f%255Bbd%255D%255Bbyear%255D%3D2009%26f%255Bbd%255D%255Bu%255D%3D0
Click on the "manual" underneath "downloads" to see what they look like. I don't know where the picture came from on that page, but those aren't the rear sliders.

I'm sure they'll do a fine job in a tip-over, but probably not so much if your bike were to go sliding down the road.

You already have some great sliders on your bike. They are called saddle bags. If you fall down and slide down the road they will protect the rest of your bike, and more importantly your lower leg, from serious damage. The bags are very easily (though not necessarily cheaply) replaceable.

A nerf bar bolted to the frame might do the same, but it also might tweak your bike's frame and subsequently allow you to total your bike and put a deposit on a new red 2014.

I don't see how those "frame sliders" would do much of anything if you already have the bags on.

I agree Fred, those won't do anything for you with much forward motion. The reason I put them on was to protect those expensive bags in a parking lot tip over, which seems to be what i do best. D'oh!

Do they stick out far enough to protect the bags? They don't look like they do, which was what prompted my comment.

they are far enough out. i was looking at phil's bike this weekend and was thinking of switching out the canyone cage bag protectors with the slider type he has.

I took this picture right after I installed them, just to prove it to myself and it seemed better than actually tipping the bike over...again.

Steve, I don't think the rear canyon cages look bad at all on your bike.

Just remember the bike will typically "roll" further, the mirror usually suffers even in a zero speed drop (I have first-hand experience), so the bags will probably still get a minor rub, maybe only on the rubber Yamaha strip.
