If you use a smart phone you may want to check out the app called CRADAR. Basically you select an emergency contact, play with the detection settings (low worked best for me), start monitoring and if your phone detects a crash it will notify you to respond or it will send out a short emergency message with a link with your GPS location. I think it's a great idea especially for riders who travel alone often.

You can edit the message but you are limited to only 48 characters.....They need to at least double that. But for free you can't beat it.

Sounds like a decent idea, only issue I have is that a lot of the places I ride has zero cell reception.

It's also only Android according to their website....not all smartphones. Nice idea.

Admin Note: Tweaked thread title so iPhone folks don't get overly excited.... ;)

Not to rain on your parade, but this was discussed Here just a few days ago. Still a decent idea, but I haven't tried mine yet.
