Neil San Diego
One of "...those guys..."
Here it is at long last. Our ride report for last Sat (May 9).
The players:
Slappy (Gerry) and Shawn:
Santa Fe Dreaming (Lanny):
Ynotride (Dan):
Neil San Diego and Janet:
(sorry, no picture available at this time - feel free to insert cool pictures of beautiful people)
Gerry and Shawn, Lanny, and Neil and Janet met in Temecula for the quick ride up to Redlands where Dan was patiently waiting for us. We picked a very patriotic gas station for the meet. They fly a huge-mongus flag. You can't tell from the picture, but this thing is as big as a house!:
In the parking lot there were several Corvettes meeting up for a club drive. In the mix was this:
Cool start to the morning!
Off to Redlands to get Dan at the Redlands Starbucks. That was easy to find, because there is only one Starbucks in the whole L.A. basin area. I think. Anyway…
We rode up to Big Bear Lake from the south-east side on the 38. Got into Big Bear and made a stop for lunch.
Dan, Lanny and Shawn giving the menus a good lookin’ at:
Shawn and Gerry:
Gerry’s new dayglo-yellow jacket patiently watching over the bikes in the parking lot:
(Gerry never said, but I think that thing uses 8 “D” cells a day)
After lunch we rode across to Lake Arrowhead and down the 18. From there we slabbed it across the 10 to the 243 for a fun ride up to Idyllwild. After some sodas and some BS-ing, we headed for home. Dan headed for parts north across the 74, and Gerry and Shawn, Lanny, and Janet and I went south on Sage road for one last bit of fun before the day was through.
Here’s the feejer getting ready to head into the barn for the night. Lots of bugs on the windshield. Not sure what those critters were eating, but they were eating a lot of it.
Sorry, didn’t get very many pictures. But Old Michael will be happy - no pics of me this time.
