Reality star Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said.

Smith, 39, did not respond to CPR, and her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, 38, was with her when she died, her attorney Ron Rale told FOX News.

The former Playboy Playmate was found unresponsive Thursday in her Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino room in Hollywood, Fla.

Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger told reporters that Smith's nurse made the call to paramedics about 1:38 p.m. EST and was the only one with her when she collapsed.

Police were informed of the star's death at 2:45 p.m. but it wasn't being treated as a crime at this time, Tiger said. The Broward County Medical Examiner would determine the cause of death, he said.

Edwina Johnson, chief investigator of the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office, said the cause of death is under investigation and an autopsy will be done on Friday.

Had Anna on one of my flights a while back from DFW to LAX. She was traveling with a small entourage and she was definitely not a shrinking violet type personality. To bad her short life was filled with so much tragedy. RIP

I'll just say that where I work we're getting some good mileage out of this whole deal. Sure, it's too bad that she's dead but holding my tongue isn't going to change anything.
