Maybe it is just me (as I haven't been able to find any mentions of this in NEPRT or elsewhere in the forum) but...

I get multiple reflections of the blue Hi-Beam indicator on the windscreen. It is very annoying in town and I'm guessing would be more so on the highway. Has anyone else had this issue and come up with a solution?

btw - No, I don't drive around town with my hi-Beams on! Was just testing them out! :)

Black electrical tape works better IMO. Duct adhesive gets nasty over time and the backing isn't as UV resistant. A little experimentation and you should be able to find the reflective butter zone on the winshield to apply tape.....while still having the direct retina burn of that blue glowing light.

I would have covered mine directly, but find my centerstand with GPS does that job already.

I had thought about taping it over but hadn't considered tape on the windscreen. Wouldn't the spot move as you raise and lower the screen? (Guess the screen, for me anyway, would be all the way up when cruising on the highway.) As a function of my height and the bike geometry, there are two reflections, one of which is on the top edge (I'll call it piping) of the screen.

Being an Engineer (oops, I let it out! ) I was hoping for a more elegant solution. I tend to ignore practicality and ease of implementation but I guess this is the route to go.

Thanx for your help everyone.

Just an idea:

You could cut a postage-stamp sized piece of window tint film and place it over the offending light source.

You'd still be able to see the light, but at a reduced % of transmittance.

Get a wiring print of the high beam indicator. Butt splice a resistor into that wire or use a bulb that will emit less light then the original itself. Then post it up here on the forum so you can be christened a hero.....of some sort.

Thanx odot! I was still planning on looking into a more elegant solution but hadn't considered a resistor. That could work.

...and I didn't think FNGs could catapult to 'hero' status! Now I have something to aspire to! :yahoo:

We'll work it out with the admins when you accomplish your feat. And a star was borne........

Go ahead and let the dog-piling begin...but I LIKE the reflected blue light...I never forget to turn my hi-beams off when I meet up with traffic. :D

Ok....for extended high-beam use you can break into the high-beam light wire and run the resistor to a switch you can turn on or off. Another farkle for you fanatical farkle freaks of fudgerville.

How about a rheostat? Hell wire it into all the ***** lights just like a car. :)
