Several years back a friend of mine was in Yosemite with him on his bike, his wife on her's and another husband and wife on their bikes. They had stopped along side the road to check some gear and had just started to take off when at approx. 25 mph a deer jumped off the hill on the high side of the road right on to the lap of my friend's wife's lap! She was lucky and only ended up with a broken arm, cuts and bruises and the bike had a broken windshield. The deer got away. What a wake-up! Anyway, at least no blood and guts.
