Krikey!

And here's another Shoot, thought I linked to the pack of squids plowing into the back of a herd of Harleys. It was one of the "more videos" section, but now it's gone.

. . . Well, one thing seems clear: riders are making decisions that contribute to their accidents. . . .
One of Burleigh's thread's "bad decisions" for sure. He started from the right shoulder, unsighted, and just went. Made the assumption that nobody else was on the road.

Hey, ucto, you linked to the same video jdog posted. A little cut-and-paste boo-boo?

Well....

A tough lesson for making a stupid choice... If had been paying better attention and been able to high speed counter-steer that might of just been a close call for the books!! Pretty much the theme of most motorcycle deaths though I suppose.

I've seen squids do a lot of really dumb crap like passing me (on a cruiser, not the feej) going around a blind corner.

However, I've scared the **** out of myself more than once, so I hesitate to call anyone else a *******.

Both videos are cautionary tales, however, and will serve as a reminder for me as the weather starts warming up around here.

Cheers.

Functional word being “IF”……. {largest two letter word in the dictionary……}

And +1 on what JimV said about scaring myself more than once…. And good reminders that our beloved sport usually has very low tolerances for screw-ups.

I did see one guy stopped behind a down rider, but he looked real nervous about being there. Obviously there was a mass attention deficit as the dominoes fell.

Yeah I think if you were in that situation you would want to keep rolling until you were clear from what was coming up behind you. The area where the pile up occurs is a kill zone and you have to keep rolling until you are clear. If you stop you are just blocking yet another excape path.
