I bought a set of BMX freestyle pegs a couple years ago as I thought they would make great sliders when I was thinking about making my own set. Hollow, chrome plated steel, just the right size. The project never went anywhere and then I got to thinking that the would probably grab more than slide. So I put them on my daughters unridden BMX bike and gave the bike away to her cousin.
Recently I've seen pictures you guys have posed of bikes that have gone down and how many of the sliders cracked. Just throwing this out that the hollow pegs would make great "sleeves" for sliders and add some structural support. Might even look cool.
