Sorry I'm sure there are tons of threads about this, but to be honest I did search and was overwhelmed with all the talk of relays and fuse blocks and tail light wires ect.

Quick and easy.... Is there and unused keyed power source easily accessible on a 2007. Only need enough juice to run a gps and mabey charge a cell phone in the tank bag

There is not what you would call an unused switched circuit which is why most folks add something like a Fuzeblock to allow them to add extra circuits that are separately fused. The advantage to something like a fuzeblock is that you have control over what circuits are switched on with the ignition and which circuits are powered all the time.

If you want the cheap and dirty way to run low power devices such as a GPS you can tap off the running lights (the blue with red stripe wire is positive and the black wire is negative) running back to the taillight assembly. This circuit will be live any time the key is on.

For things like gps and phone charging I chose to wire directly to the battery. Why? B/c a powerlet socket can be used for so much more, like running an air compressor or plugging in a battery charger, without the key being turned on. I know, folks worry about leaving stuff on and draining the battery but let's face it: if you leave your gps plugged in and mounted it's gonna get stolen, hence no battery draining. Plus I tested it- 3 days of constant gps plugged in without the engine running does nothing to the battery as far as starting capability (mine is also an '07, still with the original battery).

I used the windshield auto retracted jumper trick that Bounce posted.

https://www.fjr-tips.org/mods/pdb/pdb.html

I have two relay setups;

1) under the dash using the auto retract jumper for the relay. This is for my GPS, Aux power, and Volt Meter.

2) Under the seat using the tail lights for the relay. This is for my heated gear and Aux power inside my Givi Top Case.

Both are real simple to do.

I need a switched circuit because I have a bags connection powered tank bag and its safety relay is always using a small amount of current, it will kill the battery in a couple days even if nothing is plugged into it.

Another switched source is tap the cig lighter circuit in front of the glove box. Fused for 3 amps so it'll easily handle gps and light charging duties.

OK cool.... cig lighter is probably the easiest. Still pretty surprisingly Yamaha didnt supply accessory power with easy access.

I believe the heated grip leads are down below the glove box as well. If you are only running very low power items then any accessible switched lead would do but obviously the easiest access is the glove box plug.

I picked the auto-retract jumper because it doesn't force a splice into the OEM harness. You tap the jumper loop that's external to the harness. From there a power bar gives you plenty more sources for power; again without the need to introduce potential failure points to the OEM harness.
