As I mentioned in another post, I am planning to sell off my 2006 vmax and get a FJR1300A (not AE). I could go with a 2006 model and If I put the deposit now I may get it by end of the year (but season is then over :-( or go for a 2007 and wait till spring/summer. From the improvements made for 2006 model, it may be as good as it gets ... unless Yamaha has some goodies planned for 2007 model!

Anyone has clues on what's expected for 2007 model? Worth the wait?

On a related note: Whether I get a 2006 or 2007, would I be paying full MSRP +/- ? I would like to know this before I talk to dealers. If it's relevant, I live in NJ.

Also, does anyone live in NJ (or nearby states) who may consider allowing me to test ride a FJR? You would of course be welcome to test ride my new V-MAX! (Mind you, the V-MAX is not broken in yet, so shouldn't be going anywhere near redline!)

There was an 06A on eBay this weekend in Latrobe, PA with 0 miles on it at a dealer. No idea what the reserve is, but the "Buy It Now" price was almost $1k below MSRP.

Depending on your penchant for seeking out a good deal, you'll be able to get an '07 for less than MSRP. And at this point should definitely be able to get a good deal below MSRP on an '06.

D&H Cycle in Cullman, AL will sell you a brand new one, pre-ordering of course, for about $2k below MSRP - yes, $2,000 off. That's what they were selling the '06s for. I'm sure they'll be in the same ballbark on '07s. You just need to figure out if it's worth the one-way flight there, 'cause you know damn well it's worth the trip back on a brand new Feejer! Yeah baby, yeah!

My advice if you're gonna buy an '06, keep watching the boards and buy one from some guy that's only put a few thousand miles on his (or less), and who's added a few hundred dollars (or thousands) on farklizing it, and there's your deal man! Don't get caught up in the idea of being the first owner - it's overrated.

Now, get rid of that bar-hopper, street-rod (but helluva frickin' cool bike) and git yerself the King of Sport-Tourers.

DO IT! NOW! :yahoo:

Got a telephone number for D&H in AL? Thanks if you do, may I please get it??

I hear in 2007, the FJR will have an automatic transmission. :fans:
And a wet bar...
I heard they were thinking about a self-sustaining rehydration system as well. Kind of like Kevin Costner's deal in Waterworld - pee in a reservoir, then the heat off the engine recycles it into usable drinking water that's then pumped back up into your Camelback. :D

I highly recommend D&H. I bought mine there - flew over from Houston, and rode it home. I saved over $1,000 compared to what I could have bought in Houston for. The trip cost me about $250 (could have been less, but airfare was only $130, so I decided not to waste one of my frequent flyer tickets). The trip back was a bonus.
